Popular Women’s Streetwear Categories

The first jeans were made in the 19th century, when Levi Strauss came up with the idea of making pants out of denim. At first they were work trousers which were popular especially among the gold miners during the gold rush, but then in the 50s jeans rose in popularity thanks to James Dean and among women especially thanks to Marilyn Monroe, who wore them in The Misfits. Jeans were considered a symbol of rebellion among the younger generation. But today that’s no longer the case; nowadays jeans are a foundation for every streetwear wardrobe. Having at least one well-made and fitting pair of female jeans will be the secret ace up your sleeve. For sure.

They’re the ideal solution for those mornings then you don’t know what to wear but need to leave your house in a hurry. Just combine them with a white short-sleeved shirt, a sweatshirt or jacket and voila! Indeed, jeans go well with the aforementioned sweatshirt, a sweater, but also with looser blazers or canvas jackets. The most popular jeans cuts include skinny jeans, slim jeans, women’s boyfriend jeans and high-waist jeans. As far as the colour goes, we recommend lighter jeans for those hot summer days and darker ones when it's colder outside and it starts to snow.

Not finding what you’re looking for in our offer? Make your own, customized. There might not be a fashion piece that’s more customizable than jeans. You can add holes, because torn women’s jeans are still cool; paint them, add various pictures by sewing or ironing, cut off the ends of the legs to have them frayed, or cut old jeans to turn them into shorts. For fun, you can then keep track of how many people ask you where you got those shorts.

We recommend properly trying out jeans before you decide to buy them and making sure that they make you feel good and you like yourself in them. If you don’t get that feeling, choose another pair. At Footshop we can recommend brands such as Levi’s, Calvin Klein Jeans and Tommy Jeans.
